The "mod"
The story of this... "interesting piece of technology" is quite long.
After getting the idea, of making a music video for an improv song, Roman decided to create a mod just for that.... but it was a programming failure.
The first test ended with a complete crash of his computer and never properly opened ever since....
However, one day Roman wanted to edit a video and named the project "hallway", which created a black screen after opening it.
Roman then heard voices inside his connected VR headset... he put it on and saw, that he was inside DDLC... or rather, his broken/corrupted mod of it!
Since then, a lot of other things happened.

NOTE: Despite what a specific AI says, this mod will never be publicized because of its broken state(aka it only can run on Romans computer)
Monika
After the end of the original Doki Doki Literature Club, Monika became more reserved and worried about Roman and the rest of the club members.
Monika still retains her "president powers"(aka she can see everything in the game files and can change them) but only uses them when needed.
Her love to Roman is still there but is afraid to show it to him because she thinks, that Roman hates her for what she has done.
Also, she created "Ronika" who was planned to be "someone to talk to while Roman is gone"(which was only a few days)
Sayori
Normally, people don't think that Sayori could get as obsessive as Monika, once she gets the "president powers"... this Sayori is not that.
After reaching the good ending in DDLC and reappearing in the mod, she became more... lets say "never give an airhead god-like powers"..
But besides that, Sayori is still Sayori.

Natsuki
Natsuki is... well, she is still the same as from the original game.
Only that Monika and Sayori prevent her from getting to know, that she is in a video game or even mod of a video game
Yuri
Yuri is partially like the one from the original game... only...
Club Rule #3: Do NOT have any sharp object near Yuri
(She gets into "Act 2-Mode" when she sees it)
Prezman
Prezman is the official in-world club president with the goal of becoming "the biggest president in the world".
He came into the club after Roman played the mod "Monika Before Story" and is named after he called his own character that
Litman
A too dense guy, liking the special "substances" he comes across.
He was one of the new club members, after the mod became what it is today, and is a reference to Romans character during his "A Brand New Day" playthrough
Phantom Yuri/PY

She is based on Yuri from the mod "Doki Doki Forces"
Laggy
The personification of lag.....
She just appeared when the mod became corrupted.
Ronchi
During Romans first birthday party in the club, Ronchi appeared out of thin air and is basically Romans chibi version.
(Ron from Ronika which was the name of his body, chi from chibi.
Ronika
"Ronika" was originally the name of the sprite, Roman used to use whenever he was in the mod or when he needs to show up in his videos without showing his face(pre-VTuber era).
Nowadays, it's the name of the AI Monika made in the beginning of her time in the mod
